Coaching is so much more...

Today I cleaned the house, had 7 phone calls, chatted with one of my coaches, spent time with the hubs and now I'm babysitting my niece......these were all scheduled INCLUDING the "no phone" time between 3 and 5pm. There were extra phone calls I didn't plan for but I enjoyed which is okay because I had a real productive day and got everything done I needed to do. Sounds strange but without a schedule and boundaries my business and over commitment could run us into the ground.
One of my favorite calls today was with one of my coaches and we went over her goals and way to reach them but more importantly.....we talked about boundaries. Setting times to work and times to NOT WORK. It's hard to stop when you love what you do and believe in it but, what's more important than family? It's a no-brainer. We work so that we can have more options and freedom for our family. I advised her to schedule both her family time and her time to work her business because she needs to ensure she doesn't neglect either one because both are so important. Today she said she was going to try and implement this tomorrow. I know she's looking forward to being able to balance both so she can have more freedom to do what she wants and enjoy her family time.
This is one of the reasons WHY I LOVE what I do....not only to help others achieve their health goals but also to help my coaches make their business into a source of income so they can stay home more with their families and enjoy the freedom. Coaching is so much more than being a great coach.......it's about being the best MOM/DAD/WIFE/HUSBAND you can be and finding your purpose though this business. heart emoticon

A Typical Dinner

Here's what's for dinner at our house!...I had 2 chicken thighs and a sweet potato topped with cinnamon which was amazing while my husband had a Digiorno pizza loaded with who knows what lol. Hubs isn't into the clean eating yet and that's fine because you know what....it's not going to throw me off track!

Not everyone around you will choose to eat clean with you which is okay and down the road you may be that shining example for them to "make that switch" because they will see how much better you feel and what clean eating is doing for you.

Don't get discouraged, don't make them do it with you....just keep on doing whatever you need too so that you stay on track! I've had so many ppl ask me over the past few months how I stay on track? They've asked me what should they do when they've got kids with junk food around the house...and here's what I tell them.

When there is junk food around the house....shouldn't that be MORE of a reason to stay on track? ....STOP making excuses for yourself! <--- Sorry for the tough love here but it's the TRUTH and sometimes you just have to say it so the point comes across.

I do however recommend having some healthy go to snacks such as baby carrots, celery sticks and whatever is quick and easy so you are less prone to grab the bag of chips. Keep the junk "out of sight" and have the healthier options easy to grab.

Anyhow, that's my little tip for the day...hope it helps

I'm sure most of you have been in this predicament lol...

This happened me to the other day and I tell you what....I did AWESOME!!

A few days ago, I had to stop and buy my husband Chick-Fil-A for lunch so I could surprise him with it. He's not into the clean eating just yet but he is making progress by making better choices so I'm proud of him for trying.
It was PURE SUCCESS!!...first time I managed to go through this place without giving in to the temptations because oh man that chicken smelled amazing going through the drive-thru lol. I don't care for the other fat food...I mean fast food joints  but I always had a hard time going through this place without getting something for myself. When Nick got home for lunch he had his food while I drank my Shakeo, I am so proud of myself and the hubs said he's real proud of me too so yay!!
Don't use the excuse that you can't eat clean because your spouse and/or kids are holding you back...shouldn't they BE THE REASON to eat better for your health?
Trust me, it ain't easy but when you have my little Facebook support group and a coach (wink wink --> that's me ) who can check in with you on a daily basis than it gets easier, I promise!

Stay Focused!

Most of the time we think of weekends as a chance to relax and unwind and that usually means eating out and having drinks. But why not change it up a bit and instead of “unwinding” all weekend....pick a day where you schedule your cheat meal, book a massage or go to a yoga class to relax. Planning it out this way gives you a whole day of relaxation and it gives you something to look forward to all week. Follow your meal plan including your planned cheat meal and you will still maintain the progress that you have worked so hard for!

It's the Coconut Oil!

Lately I've had quite a few compliments on my hair such as my hair looks so soft and has grown so fast which I just had it trimmed a month ago! I will tell you that for years my hair grew so incredibly slow, it was quite frustrating and at one point I thought that my hair was not going to grow anymore. Last year, I decided to do a little research on how to condition and grow you hair the natural way and came across coconut oil.
Let me tell you that this stuff is AMAZING!! Coconut oil is one of the most effective hair treatments for a wide variety of hair issues! It works incredibly well for repairing damaged hair that has been over processed, heat damaged, or is just naturally dry. I absolutely love this stuff!
Make sure to buy Organic unrefined coconut oil, I have bought mine from Sams Club but you should also be able to find some at your local grocery store. Start off small by placing a tsp for shorter hair to around a tbsp for longer hair in your hand and than rub your hands together to make it melt...just play around with it to figure out how much is best for you. After my shower, I scrunch some into my damp hair and just let it dry and I do this at least 1-2 times a week.
You can also apply coconut oil on your skin, chapped lips, dry elbows...just about anywhere to help soften your skin.
Who else uses this stuff?

Meal Prep

Another tip on how to stay healthy when you're super BUSY! Plan all of your meals ahead of time.

Bulk cook and prep on the weekends for your breakfasts and/or lunches. Filling Tupperware containers with salads and breakfast casseroles is a big win for a successful week of eating! Most foods will stay fresh for several days in the fridge. Set one or two hours every weekend for bulk cooking, and you'll be thankful you did.

And to make it more fun...invite a friend to join you for meal prep Sunday!

Who else preps their meals on Sunday?
